Canonical™ is the only enterprise wide Tribunal Case Management System on the market today. Canonical processes 10 case types and follows an Event Driven Canon Law process to do so. This methodology ensures that your cases are processed correctly and by the law.

Canonical allows Tribunals to manage their personnel and case processes more efficiently and effectively. This reduces the amount of man-hours expended during the life of a case and enables Tribunals to process more cases with less cost.

Included with the Canonical System is a Parish Portal that allows case entry and status review from each parish within a given Diocese. Case documents and attachments can now be submitted completely and timely to facilitate initial case review and acceptance. Initial blank case documents can be downloaded at the parish level ensuring up-to-date document revisions during entry process.

The Canonical System provides a Canon Research Portal and Case Evidence Portal. This allows the parties in question to have immediate access to all materials required to process the case. Judges, Advocates, Defenders of the Bond can now access/research/fulfill their Tribunal cases without leaving the confines of their parish. The Canon Law Research portal allows decision makers to peruse the Canons and Grounds while doing sentencing.

The Canonical System's archiving capability allows past cases to be accessed - Petitioner, Respondent, Decisions and Sentences can all be researched with no effort at all. Tribunal Systems Legacy Data Migration program can incorporate your current systems data right into Active Status or Archived Status cases.

Cost Effective and Time Saving - Canonical streamlines Tribunal processes making their personnel more effective. Tribunals no longer need to spend time looking up case files, discovering case status, ensuring proper documentation, doing background Petitioner and Respondent searches, managing/training personnel for each case, searching for evidence files, misprinting or reprinting the wrong documents and much more. Canonical Saves time and money by utilizing your resources in the most effective manner possible.

10 Tribunal Case Types - The Canonical System currently processes all 10 Tribunal case types. The Tribunal case types are: Formal Annulment (includes Documentary and Collegiate), Formal Appellate, Appellate by Ratification (Second Instance), Marriage Dispensation/Permission, Absence of Canonical Form, Pauline Privilege, Petrine Privilege, Frater-Soror, Sanatio, Presumed Death. Each type of case is crafted to follow the specific sequence of steps as laid forth by Canon Law.

Parish Portal - The Parish Portal allows Parishes within the Diocese to enter and check the status of cases directly on the Canonical System. By allowing the Parish to enter the case you immediately create a time savings on behalf of the Tribunal and Parish personnel. It ensures that each Parish uses the same documents, processes as well as provides complete information. The Parish can then provide instant feedback to the Parishioner and send the follow-up, complete (original) documents to the Diocese.

Parish Case Tracking - Parishioners often seek information about their cases from their Parish. Parish personnel can instantly view the status of any case that was submitted through their Parish Portal and pass that information on to the Parishioner. Canonical eases the workload and creates ease of mind for the Parishioner.

Canonical Case Processing - Each case type is crafted to follow Canon Law. As a case progresses from one stage or 'event' to the next the fulfillment information required changes as well. The case information that is required to be gathered or sent out (documents) explicitly follows the steps and procedures as laid down by Canon Law. By using the Canonical System Tribunal personnel will immediately be following Canon Law and will significantly reduce the number of procedural errors that can occur.

Case Document Rendering - Document processing and printing is a large part of the Tribunal process. The Canonical System currently contains 741 Case Documents. Each document can be used 'as-is' or customized for the Tribunal's particular need. Canonical creates the appropriate documents, for each case, for each stage or event that case traverses. Tribunal personnel need only 'point & click' to print the required and appropriate documents; it's that simple! Canonical even prints the envelopes for you!

Case Evidence Attachment - Each case you process could require the collection of dozens of pieces of evidence. Each time decision makers need to peruse the evidence of a case, personnel needs to be tasked, files found, documents checked-out, time allotted to receive the documents, etc. The Canonical System makes this process simple and immediate. The Case Evidence portal allows the proper personnel to attach, remove and update evidence within, and to, a specific case. Each piece of evidence attached to a case can be called upon and viewed with just one click! The Case Evidence portal saves time, money, manpower and allows all of the decision makers to view the same evidence.

Event Driven - Canonical takes the guesswork out of Tribunal case processing. The Canonical System's Event Driven protocol ensures that each case is ushered through the proper stages/steps (events) and that all required information/documents are received or printed. As the events in a case change, Tribunal personnel are presented with only the task that is required to complete at that particular stage - no guesswork and all done by Canon Law! Tribunal personnel cannot move the case forward until all the required elements have been completed. Canonical also keeps track of the number of days canonically allowed to complete each 'case event' and visually notifies personnel assigned to that case. This methodology ensures the cases that need attention receive it quickly and assigned personnel know exactly which information is required to complete that particular stage or event. Cases move forward quickly, canonically, cost-effectively and without error.

Multi-Threaded Outcomes - Some stages or events during Tribunal Case processing require information or response from several disparate individuals (Petitioner/Respondent/Witnesses/etc.) or auxiliary procedures. The 'outcome' of these disparate tasks can ultimately determine or influence the course of a Tribunal Case. Each of these potential outcomes become 'Threads'. Canonical waits the appropriate time (as prescribed by Canon Law) for each thread to come to a resolution. Depending upon the outcome of each thread and all threads combined the case will move to the next event as prescribed by Canon Law.

Case Load Monitoring - With one click Canonical can show you and your management staff exactly how many cases you have and at what stage they are in. Canonical shows you which cases are overdue for information and which are doing well.

Personnel Management - Does your Tribunal keep handwritten or manual (spreadsheet) records of which personnel are on what cases? Canonical shows you which personnel are on what cases and how they are doing for each case. You can see the granular aspects of any/all cases that you are interested in. If you need to follow up you can do so with the specific individual or notary assigned to the case.

Remote Tribunal Gathering - The nature of Canonical is to be network able so it is now possible to serve the Tribunal without leaving the confines of your Parish. Canonical allows for Tribunal members/personnel to work remotely and fulfill their duties just as before. This greatly reduces the cost and scheduling inconsistencies of 'out-of-area' members as well as those that may be on sabbatical or vacation. Tribunals can now conference together, review the same information and include other time commitments as well.

Canon Law Research - The Canonical System includes a Canon Law Research portal to help decision makers read through/research the law. The Canons can be updated as needed and are accessed with a simple click. Grounds are linked to the Canons and can be accessed as well.

Customization to Fit Your Needs - Does your Tribunal not quite fit the Canons? Do you do things a little differently? Do you need certain case views or processes that would help the case process but are not included? The Canonical System is fully configurable to your needs. We can include/exclude stages of a case. Allow or Disallow certain documents to print/be available. Change/revamp/completely disassemble the way in with the cases unfold. Canonical allows us to customize every aspect of the Tribunal process and sub-processes.

Case Archiving - Canonical holds every case that your Tribunal has done. If you need to find a specific case or do searches based upon Petitioner or Respondent The Canonical Case Archiving System makes it simple. Canonical allows you to see all of the information associated with an archived case so there is no need to pull the 'old' case file. This function saves an enormous amount of time and money.

Year End Reporting - Canonical has all of the information to produce all of your year end reports. The Canonical System tracks all of your case activity: Pending, Accepted, Reactivated, Changes, Decisions, Transferred, Judges, Associates, Defenders, etc. Canonical provides an error free way of processing your reporting data.

Tribunal Role Case Permissions - The Canonical System is secure. Only those personnel with the appropriate task roles may have access to a certain case, at a certain point/event (as prescribed) within the Canonical System. Canonical ensures that all information is kept confidential and that only the proper, authorized personnel have access to it.

Legacy Case Data Migration/Transfer - Tribunal Systems can work with your current software vendor to migrate the large quantities of data that you may have. Current cases as well as archived cases can be transferred and put into the proper place within the Canonical System. Tribunal Systems also has experience dealing with older, no longer supported software systems.

Affordable Pricing - Tribunal Systems understands the budgetary constraints placed upon modern day Tribunals. We can work with you in determining a cost structure that can fit within your budget. Tribunal Systems can defer/roll costs into a monthly payment plan that works for your Tribunal.
